Top Ten Tuesday 11/25/2014

top ten tuesday

Surprisingly today is a double post day. I posted a book review earlier today and there was no way I was skipping out on this week’s Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and this week’s topic is…

Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

I always have a insane amount of books on my TBR list so I’m going to do my best to narrow it down to my top ten which I can tell you now is going to be hard. I may need to add a few honorable mentions at the end.

1.) Secrets and Lies by Jacqueline Green – I just ordered this on Amazon and will read it as soon as I get it

2.) My Last Kiss by Bethany Neal – Another book I just ordered and am looking forward to reading

3.) The S-Word by Chelsea Pitcher – I got this in the mail the other day but have a few more books I need to read first

4.) What Waits in the Woods by Kieran Scott – The next book I am going to start reading (ARC copy)

5.) Rooms by Lauren Oliver – Asked for this for Christmas and really hope I get it

6.) The Rain by Virginia Bergin – Seems like an interesting/different dystopian book

7.) The Boy I Love by Nina de Gramont – Love her books and want to read her newest

8.) Creed by Trisha Leaver and Lindsay Currie – Have been waiting SO long to read this and am now just waiting for it to be delivered

9.) Very Bad Things by Susan McBride – Boarding school mystery…can’t resist

10.) Fiendish by Brenna Yovanoff – I have heard great things about this book and want to read it for myself

Honorable mentions: Say Her Name and Cruel Summer by James Dawson, Dangerous Boys by Abigail Haas, The Drowing by Rachel Ward, and of course a few wintery themed books…Snowed Over by Angie Stanton, Snowed In by Rachel Hawthorne, Snow in Love by Claire Ray

Top Ten Tuesday 11/18/2014

top ten tuesday

Wow so it’s been a couple of shaky weeks since the end of October. I go to college five days a week, had to unfortunately drop one of my five classes, and I had been working close to 40 hours a week. I apologize for not keeping up on my posts. I have read a good amount of books between then and now and will hopefully get around to posting a review on all of them. Of course after so long it is a little difficult to review a book but if it comes to that I may just do a post with the titles and my rating for those books. I need to start keeping a book journal again so I can keep track of what I read when I’m done each book. I promise there will be more reviews now. I finally got my hours cut back (and yes I am happy about that) so I have a good amount of time in between my classes and when I have to be at work.

Now onto this week’s Top Ten Tuesday. I really like the topic this week because I am big on series/trilogies, so there are a good amount of sequels I am looking forward to. I’m not going to keep this list exclusive to books that have not come out yet because there are quite a few sequels that have been published and I just haven’t bought them yet. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and this week’s topic is…

Top Ten Sequels I Can’t Wait To Get

1.) P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han – This is the sequel to To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Loved the first book as well as Jenny Han’s other books as well.

2.) Fire with Fire by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian – Back to Jenny Han…I really liked Burn for Burn but haven’t had the chance to get Fire with Fire yet.

3.) Secrets and Lies by Jacqueline Green – Truth or Dare is definitely on my top ten list for this year and I am so anxious to read Secrets and Lies.

4.) Toxic (Pretty Little Liars #15) by Sara Shepard – I guess this isn’t considered a sequel but I’m still keeping it on my list. I am so happy that the series is finally coming to an end and cannot wait to see how it all ends.

5.) The Good Girls by Sara Shepard – Sequel to The Perfectionists and am sooo excited for this one to be released. I absolutely loved the first book and cannot wait to see where this series goes.

6.) Never Have I Ever (The Lying Game #2) by Sara Shepard – I started this series but have not got around to getting past the first book but I really want to read the whole series.

7.) The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin – I read the first book and was kind of confused but would love to reread it and then continue the trilogy because I hear so many good things about it.

8.) The Companion Novel to The Fine Art of Pretending by Rachel Harris – Not an actual sequel but I’m including it because it’s a companion novel and will have feature the same characters. I loved TFAOP and cannot wait for more.

9.) From Bad to Cursed by Katie Alender – I read Bad Girls Don’t Die a while ago and enjoyed it and would really like to read the other two in the trilogy.

10.) The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey – Loved, loved, loved The 5th Wave and cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel.

11.) Persuasion (The Heirs of Watson Island #2) by Martina Boone – I had to add a #11 because this is probably the most anticipated sequel on this list. Compulsion is so far my favorite book I have read in 2014 (or possibly ever) and so I am very excited for it’s sequel as well as the rest of the series.

This was actually harder than I thought. I own a lot of series or first books in a series that I haven’t read yet. I hate starting a series if I can’t continue it. I’m sure there is probably more I haven’t thought of but these are definitely the ones I am looking forward to the most.
