Top Ten Tuesday 02/24/2015

top ten tuesday

It’s been a while since I have done a Top Ten Tuesday and what better time to hop back on the wagon than now. As always Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is…

Top Ten Favorite Heroines From Books

1.) Katniss – The Hunger Games

2.) Triss – Divergent

3.) Hazel – The Fault in Our Stars

4.) Alaska – Looking for Alaska

   2767052 13335037 11870085 99561

5.) Grace – Shiver (Mercy Falls)

6.) Bianca – The DUFF

7.) Liv – Liv, Forever

8.) Sadie – Poor Little Dead Girls

6068551 6931356 18077961 17887925

9.) Bella – The Summer I Turned Pretty

10.) Emma – Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

5821978 9460487

Those are my top ten and surprisingly more than half have been made into (or are in the process of being made into) movies. I wish this list could have been heroes in general because if so the list would have been very different including some of my favorite male characters.

Top Ten Tuesday 10/21/2014

top ten tuesday

As promised, I am posting my Top Ten Tuesday post today. Unfortunately I didn’t finish my review that I wanted to post on Sunday. I am now scheduling it for this coming Thursday. I should have another review up on Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday. As always Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is…

Top New Series I Want To Start

1.) Truth or Dare by Jacqueline Green

2.) Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts

3.) The Enemy by Charlie Higson

4.) Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick

5.) Tomorrow, When the War Began by John Marsden

6.) The Beach Lane Collection (The Au Pairs) by Melissa de la Cruz

7.) Divergent by Veronica Roth

8.) Birthmarked by Caragh M. O’Brien

9.) Asylum by Madeleine Roux

10.) The Program by Suzanne Young

Not all of these series are “new” (as in they were released within the past 2 years) but they are all new to me because I haven’t read them yet. There’s a few other series that I want to start as well that I have heard good things about but unfortunately there wasn’t any more room on the list 😦 I’m actually beginning or planning on beginning Truth or Dare tomorrow and I have the first books in 7 out of the 10 series I have listed so I should probably read them and get into the series.

Top Ten Tuesday 08/02/2014

As everyone is generally headed back to school this week, The Broke and the Bookish have made this week’s Top Ten Tuesday a back to school theme. The theme itself sounds pretty easy but I can guarantee you now, it is going to take me 15-20 minutes to write this post and come up with ten characters. This week’s theme is…

Top Ten Book Characters That Would Be Sitting At My Lunch Table

1.) Hannah Marin from Pretty Little Liars

2.) Maddie Fynn from Death Date

3.) Bridget from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

4.) Sydney Biggs from Every Little Thing in the World

5.) Aly from The Fine Art of Pretending

I think I am going to leave this post at five characters that would be sitting at my lunch table. The next characters are ones I would want to sit at my table. (More or less for hotness factor, ect.)

1.) Caleb from Pretty Little Liars (Imagining if he is as hot as he is in the TV show)

2.) Peeta from The Hunger Games (Should be self explanatory)

3.) Four/Tobias from Divergent (Same as Caleb)

I’ll leave it at those three. Three hunky man candies would be plenty for my lunch table.

I apologize for my lack of pictures, details, as well as effort in this Top Ten Tuesday. I generally type up my TTT the night before and schedule for it’s posting on Tuesday. As of now, it is more like really early morning of Tuesday (around 3am) and I am struggling to stay awake as I type this. This was also a harder TTT topic than usual for myself, so I do apologize. I can promise that next week’s will be amazing.

Top Ten Tuesday 08/19/2014

I haven’t done a Top Ten Tuesday in a couple of weeks and this one is going to be tough. I don’t have many friends who read and the one that I do, I am usually the one who is recommending books to him. After I name the few that I have been told I need to read, I am going to finish out my list of 10 with books that I have been recommended over and over on Goodreads and Amazon. As always, Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is:

Top Ten Books People Have Been Telling You That You MUST Read

1.) The Harry Potter series – This has to be the one I get the most when I say I have never read them (nor do I have any intention to (no offense))

2.) Gone Girl – I actually do plan on reading this but I just have to get through a lot of other books first

3.) Anna and the French Kiss – Also planning on reading this really soon

4.) The Clique – (From when I was in middle school) All my friends were reading this and I feel like I’m the only who never read the series

5.) The Hunger Games – I finally did read the trilogy but only after I watched the movie (I wasn’t interested in either at the time and every person that told me to read them I wanted to punch in the face)

6.) L.A. Candy – Yeah another one I have no intention of reading

7.) Sarah Dessen in general – I bought Keeping the Moon for $1.99 after people were recommending Sarah Dessen book’s for years and I really liked it (Someone Like You…not so much)

8.) Pretty Little Liars – Years ago when only the first 4 books were out I was being recommended he first book on Amazon all the time and a few people at school were talking about it, now 15 books later I cannot wait for it to all be over..

9.) Monument 14 – I had heard good reviews and was being recommended it on Amazon a lot last November, I ended up buying it on vacation and the lady who owns the (super tiny) bookstore even said it was good

10.) Divergent – I have the first book I just haven’t gotten a chance to read it yet

So these ten were a lot easier than I expected once I thought back a few years into high school. I will get around to reading some that I haven’t yet, as for Harry Potter and L.A. Candy, I am not sure I will ever read them.

Top Ten Tuesday 03/04/2014

This is probably the one Top Ten Tuesday I am dreading to post my top ten list of. I am sure a lot of you are going to freak out when you see the popular authors that I am listing, but I just never was 1.) interested in their books/series or 2.) it’s not a genre that interests me. As always, Top Ten Tuesdays topics are provided by The Broke and the Bookish. So, here is my top ten list and again I apologize for the authors who I am about to type…

Top Ten Popular Authors I’ve Never Read

1.) J.K. Rowling – Yep, you read that right. I have never, ever read a Harry Potter book before. I know it is a popular series and no offense to the fans, but it is just not something that ever interested me.

2.) Veronica Roth – I have not yet read Divergent, but I do have the book on my shelf. Hopefully I will read it before I go see the movie.

3.) Lemony Snicket – Not as popular as they were back when I was in middle school, but I have never read any of The Series of Unfortunate Event books.

4.) Cassandra Clare – Once again, I know this series has a big fan base, so no offense but just not interested. (The Mortal Instruments series)

5.) James Patterson – I do however want to check out his new YA mystery novels, Confessions: The Private School Murders and Confessions of A Murder Suspect.

6.) Rainbow Rowell – Surprisingly I have not read Eleanor & Park or Fangirl. They are both listed as the books of the month in upcoming months for the book club I am in.

7.) Marissa Meyer – I feel like The Lunar Chronicles came out of no where. I had never heard of the books before and then all of a sudden BAM! I’m reading reviews for them online, they’re in the top sellers on Amazon, and I’m seeing them even at places like Target and Walmart. Although I’m not sure if I will read this series or not.

8.) Ellen Hopkins – All of her books sound good and I have heard a ton of praise for them and have read a lot of good reviews, but I can’t get past her style of writing. I like paragraphs and I can’t get into the book unless there are paragraphs with clear details, explanations, ect.

9.) Richelle Mead – Not entirely sure how popular The Vampire Academy series is right now, but I am sure it is going to have a large fan base since the movie has been released. I’m not entirely sure if this is a series I want to read yet or not.

10.) James Dashner – The Maze Runner series is one that I do plan on reading, but because I have so many other books to get through first I’m not sure when I’ll get to begin reading them.

Well there you go, my top ten list of popular authors who I have never read. Some of you probably expected to see a few of these authors on my list, while others are probably still stuck on the first one wondering how I could have never read a Harry Potter novel. I almost guarantee that some of the top most listed authors for this week are going to be John Green, Suzanne Collins, Sara Shepard, and J.K. Rowling (because I know I am not the only one posting this week who hasn’t read one of her books).

I’m going to be on the lookout for your TTT posts this week because I am interested in seeing what popular authors you haven’t read. If you want you can even post the link to your list in a comment. 🙂
