top ten tuesday

Woo hoo, first Top Ten Tuesday post of 2016 and better late then never, right? I recently started posting reviews again and am hoping to post 1 per week. I recently went from ‘undecided’ as my major to ‘pre-nursing’ so college is kicking my ass right now which is why my posts have kind of been few and far between this year. I really want to try to get at least 1 review posted a week though. I also want to do a Top Ten Tuesday every now and then and I really liked this week’s topic so here it goes…

Ten Books To Read If You Are In The Mood For X

X = Summer (surprise, surprise)

1.) Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler

2.) Nantucket Blue by Leila Howland

3.) Nantucket Red by Leila Howland

There are obviously MANY more I could have included in this list. These are just some of my favorites that came to mind right away. I love love LOVE summer themed books so my Goodreads ‘Read’ list is filled with them.

(Two more I just thought of that I LOVED…

Between Us and the Moon by Rebecca Maizel

The Summer After You and Me by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski )

top ten tuesday

Wow I have not done a Top Ten Tuesday post in I don’t know how long but I feel like it easily has to be two months which is all sorts of insane. I’m finally back on a roll with a ton of reviews being posted this and next week so it’s about time I get back to posting every Tuesday as well. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Top Ten Tuesdays, it is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week features a different topic and this week’s topic is, Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For the Rest of 2015. I do believe I participated in the Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases for 2015 at the end of last year or beginning of this year. I’m almost positive 9 out of 10 books have changed since then so it was fun to pick out 10 books that are still set to release this year.

Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For the Rest of 2015

(In order of release date)

1.) July 7 – Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls by Lynn Weingarten

2.) July 7 – Jesse’s Girl by Miranda Kenneally

3.) August 4 – Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid

4.) August 6 – The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich

8.) September 22 – Nightfall by Jake Halpern & Peter Kujawinski

9.) October 27 – Persuasion by Martina Boone

10.) November 10 – Consent by Nancy Ohlin

I am hoping to be able to read and review advanced copies of most, if not all, of these books on my list. I currently have review copies for numbers 1, 2 and 9, and will be reviewing book number 8 through a tour. I will be posting those reviews as they get closer to their release dates so be on the lookout for them beginning in July!

top ten tuesday

Hey readers! So I know it’s been a while since I last posted and I want to apologize for that. While I thought quitting my old job and accepting my current job would give me more reading and blogging time I was wrong. I am no longer completely stressed out but at the same time I am not happy and comfortable where I am. I’m still in college and depend on paying for school through loans and I have bills to pay as well. This current position is not even close to cutting it financial wise and that is taking a toll on me as I am on the hunt for a new (preferably full time) position. I do have a review I’ve been meaning to type and am currently, also slowly, working my way through another book. I also have several book tours I will be participating in in the upcoming months. Hopefully I kind find some sort of happy medium and continue to post regularly.

Anyhow, on to today’s post for Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and each week they feature a new topic. This week’s topic is…

Ten Books You Recently Added To Your To-Be-Read List

– Forever for a Year by B.T. Gottfred

– Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children #3) by Ransom Riggs

– Guys Do Not Do Secret Santa by Miranda Kenneally

– The Deal (Off Campus #1) by Elle Kennedy

– Jesse’s Girl by Miranda Kenneally

– The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick

– Like It Never Happened by Emily Adrian

– Please Don’t Tell by Laura Tims

– The Notorious Pagan Jones by Nina Berry

– Nowhere But Here (Thunder Road #1) by Katie McGarry

So I apologize for not using pictures this week but many of these books do not even have a cover yet. You can view my entire To-Be-Read list here.

So yay I am so far staying on top of my Top Ten Tuesday posts! So far I am loving my new job and it has already given me so much extra time to read so I will be posting a book review tomorrow morning. I am so happy to finally get back to reading and posting like before. Anyways Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish who create a new topic for each week. This week’s topic is, Ten Books For Readers Who Like _________. Each blogger can choose what to fill in the blank with so I am choosing…

Ten Books For Readers Who Like Young Adult Romances

1.) The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy by Jenny Han

2.) Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler

3.) Moonglass by Jessi Kirby

4.) The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

10.) Between Us and the Moon by Rebecca Maizel *Expected Publishing Date 6/2015*

2286482920807316

These are my top picks when it comes to young adult romance that I have read. Numbers 9 and 10 are not yet published and I was lucky to have a chance to read a review copy of each, but both were so good that they had to be on this list. I’ve posted a review on Wrong About the Guy and look for my review on Between Us and the Moon tomorrow morning! These are two 2015 releases you won’t want to pass up.

So I realize I’m posting this on Thursday March 5, but I am going to edit the publish date to Tuesday March 3 because I missed this Top Ten Tuesday and this is a week I didn’t want to miss. It’s definitely going to include some books that haven’t made any of my top ten lists before. As always Top Ten Tuesdays are hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is…

Top Ten Books You Would Classify as ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOKS From the Past 3 Years

1.) The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han

2.) Pretty Little Liars (Book 1) by Sara Shepard

3.) The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Okay so I went way past ten books but honestly how was I supposed to ONLY pick ten? I extended my list to thirty books, and they are in no particular order, I just only included pictures for the first 10. If someone asked me to fill a box with my favorite books from the past 3 years and give it to someone, these are the books I’d put in there. I know I have to be leaving some out too that I really enjoyed but I just currently can’t think of, plus thirty seemed like a good number to stop at.

top ten tuesday

It’s been a while since I have done a Top Ten Tuesday and what better time to hop back on the wagon than now. As always Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is…

Top Ten Favorite Heroines From Books

1.) Katniss – The Hunger Games

2.) Triss – Divergent

3.) Hazel – The Fault in Our Stars

4.) Alaska – Looking for Alaska

   2767052 13335037 11870085 99561

9.) Bella – The Summer I Turned Pretty

10.) Emma – Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

5821978 9460487

Those are my top ten and surprisingly more than half have been made into (or are in the process of being made into) movies. I wish this list could have been heroes in general because if so the list would have been very different including some of my favorite male characters.

Top Ten Tuesday 01/20/2015

top ten tuesday

Yay for a freebie week! Since this week we can choose any topic for our Top Ten Tuesday post I am going to do…

Top Ten Books I Want to See Made Into Movie

Of course we are talking in a perfect world where the movie would not butcher the book and would be absolutely perfect and not missing a single detail.

untitled 22550839 18460392 image 20894023

1.) Ruthless by Carolyn Lee Adams

2.) What Waits in the Woods by Kieran Scott

3.) All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

4.) Ten by Gretchen McNeil

5.) Famous Last Words by Katie Alender

6.) They All Fall Down by Roxanne St. Claire

7.) Compulsion by Martina Boone

8.) The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han

9.) Creed by Trisha Leaver and Lindsay Currie

10.) The Vault of Dreamers by Caragh M. O’Brien

And of course there were a few I had to leave out that didn’t make the top ten but deserve an honorable mention…

 15777797 20702025 13260536 22456909 20549288 12753231

8535449 20821376 16059149 7664334 18775628 18285437

And these last two would have made the top ten but they are currently being made into movies…

Top Ten Tuesday 01/13/2015

 top ten tuesday

So I skipped quite a few Tuesdays these past 2 months but I am back on the wagon! A perfect week to start Top Ten Tuesday because this week’s topic is Top Ten 2014 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To. There is a lot of 2014 releases I unfortunately did not get to last year so my top ones will make this list.

Since Last Summer by Joanna Philbin                  Nantucket Red by Leila Howland

                 18634795                               18453185

I read and loved both of the first novels of the above series and am so mad at myself that I have not read their sequels yet. I will definitely be reading these two soon.

Toxic by Sara Shepard                                                    Vicious by Sara Shepard

                                  18599776                                            20958250

Get Even by Gretchen McNeil                                   Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

                      20483075                                                         18189606

Two authors I absolutely love and can’t wait to read their new titles.

Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy                               We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

               18053148                                              16143347

I’ve heard nothing but good things about both these books that were on my TBR list last year and that I never got around to reading.

Say Her Name by James Dawson                                 Dangerous Boys by Abigail Haas

18621200                                          19732381

These both have been on my TBR list last year and I finally got both for Christmas because they had to be ordered from Book Depository since they haven’t (or at the time weren’t) published in the US.

Pointe by Brandy Colbert                                                  Feral by Holly Schindler

13360957                                           15782742

These two I forgot about for a while but they are both ones I cannot wait to read.

My Last Kiss by Bethany Neal

18465608

I have ordered this book 4 times, yes 4 times, and have yet to ever receive it in the mail. I have always been refunded after getting an email saying they are out of stock or they can’t find it or it was lost in the mail. I want to read this so bad! Hopefully the fifth time will be the charm.

So those are my 2014 releases that I never got around to reading. I couldn’t keep it down to 10 books so I had to add 3 extra. I’m hoping I get around to reading all 13 within the next 2 months, but knowing me it probably won’t happen.

Top Ten Tuesday 12/02/2014

top ten tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they come up with a new topic for bloggers to post about and this week’s topic is, Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To In 2015. I have  an entire list on Goodreads dedicated to young adult books coming out in 2015. I don’t think this list necessarily has to 2015 debuts, but since I have a lot that I am looking forward to, I am going to pick my top ten from that list.

Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To In 2015

*in no particular order*

1.) The Devil You Know by Trish Doller                2.) All We Have Is Now by Lisa Schroeder

22929537                                    22840148

3.) The Rules by Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguie            4.) The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord

22611701                                               22429350

5.) Last Year’s Mistake by Gina Ciocca                         6.) I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios

21825486                                                 21469068

7.) Scripted by Maya Rock                                                8.) Damage Done by Amanda Panitch

20922690                                                 19542831

9.) First There Was Forever by Juliana Romano                         10.) Even When You Lie to Me by Jessica Alcott

18760564                                                                   18740851

11.) The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West                                    12.) We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach

18660447                                                                18392459

13.) The Creeping by Alexandra Sirowy                                       14.) The Night We Said Yes by Lauren Gibaldi

23309610                                                                    Untitled-4

15.) What You Left Behind by Jessica Verdi                        16.) The Wrong Side of Right by Jenn Marie Thorne

20933641                                                                   17235448

Well I definitely surpassed ten books. There were just too many that I had to include on this list because I couldn’t narrow it down any further. I feel like I also only have a few genres on this list, YA romance, YA contemporary and YA thriller/mystery. I seriously cannot wait for all of these to come out and will probably preorder a few with gift cards I get for Christmas.
